About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group. CHRF operates with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.  

Very soon we are going to start a clinical trial “An open-label randomised controlled trial comparing novel combination and currently used antibiotic regimens for the empiric treatment of neonatal sepsis with a run-in confirmatory pharmacokinetic phase (NeoSep1)” at the Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute and Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital.

We are inviting applications for the above-mentioned project for the position of Trial Manager.

Required Candidate Profile

  1. MBBS degree from a BMDC-recognized medical college, with completion of internship training and a strong academic record
  2. Candidates holding post Graduate degree (DCH/MPH/PhD or equivalent) degrees will be given preference
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health research or project management, particularly in hospital settings
  4. Strong problem-solving and management skills
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English
  6. Ability to work independently and take initiative
  7. Enthusiasm for working in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Salary

Negotiable (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate), Contributory provident fund, festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi) and two days weekend.

Role

  1. Constant supervision to ensure that the study is conducted properly and as per protocol
  2. Coordination among the site study personal and study Investigators and other related persons
  3. Monitor the progress of project activities at hospitals in collaboration with site-specific coordinators
  4. Arrange and conduct training sessions for project staff
  5. Develop and prepare research administration tools, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and monitoring tools
  6. Identify gaps in project implementation and data collection processes; resolve issues in consultation with investigators and senior officials
  7. Coordinate and communicate with clinical, laboratory, and data teams to ensure epidemiological, clinical, and laboratory data are accurate and properly linked
  8. Maintain communication with donors regarding study-related issues and provide progress updates when required
  9. Analyze data and generate reports as scheduled
  10. Share project progress and challenges with investigators on a regular basis
  11. Organize and facilitate project-specific meetings in coordination with study coordinators, investigators, and relevant staff
  12. Maintain liaison with study sites and other stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and private sector partners
