 About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group. CHRF operates with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.  

Very soon we are going to start a clinical trial “An open-label randomised controlled trial comparing novel combination and currently used antibiotic regimens for the empiric treatment of neonatal sepsis with a run-in confirmatory pharmacokinetic phase (NeoSep1)” at the Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute and Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital.

We are inviting applications for the above-mentioned project for the position of Site Co-ordinator.

Required Candidate Profile

  1. MBBS degree from a BMDC-recognized medical college, with completion of internship training and a strong academic record
  2. One-year post-graduate training in Paediatrics from a recognized institution
  3. Post Graduate degree (DCH/MCPS or equivalent)/ degree will be given give preference
  4. Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health research or project management, particularly in hospital settings, will be preferred
  5. Strong problem-solving and management skills
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English
  7. Ability to work independently and take initiative
  8. Enthusiasm for working in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Salary

Negotiable (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate), Contributory provident fund, festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi) and two days weekend.

Role

  1. Supervising the site-specific Study Physicians and Nurses to ensure that the study is conducted as per protocol
  2. Support the Study Physicians in screening of neonates admitted with suspected sepsis, enrolment of eligible cases and follow-up of enrolled cases, when needed
  3. Monitor and oversee the progress of NeoSep1 activities at designated site
  4. Arrange and conduct training for project staff, ensuring ethical and accurate enrolment and data collection
  5. Identify and address gaps in project implementation and data collection, consult with seniors and fellow coordinators as needed
  6. Act as the primary point of contact at sites, ensuring compliance with study protocols
  7. Coordinate with clinical, laboratory, and data teams to ensure accurate linkage of epidemiological, clinical, and laboratory data
  8. Analyze data and prepare site specific reports as required
  9. Regularly update supervisors on progress and challenges
  10. Organize project-specific meetings with relevant study teams and supervisors
  11. Ensure adherence to SOPs at all stages of study activities
